WordPress is, indeed, easy to setup and get started. We love WordPress too as it offers one the ability to have the power likened to that of a top secret jet (or insert your favorite analogy). Yea, it's just a extremely powerful and versatile platform! The problem many people run into is the exact thing that makes it so powerful . . . Â its seemingly vast and unlimited potential (not to mention maintenance, learning-curves, conflicts, etc). The bottom line is that most folks get overwhelmed with too many options and possibilities. Inevitably, this can lead to paralysis of analysis, frustration, and wasted time.
About the time of this post and according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress, "WordPress was used by more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites as of January 2015.[6] WordPress is the most popular blogging (and website) system in use on the Web,[7] at more than 60 million websites.[8] "
This is applicable to WordPress beginners and experts who would like to cost-effectively free up time to do other things (whether it is with us or someone else). We have been involved with running both online and offline businesses for many many years and know a good bit of the A-Z business processes. We have a unique perspective in that we see WordPress as BOTH entrepreneurs and website developers/designers/online marketers. Having those additional viewpoints help us that much more to be able to relate with people AND the results they are looking to achieve online with WordPress.
If you have the time, resources, and energy to jump in and learn as much as possible to make WordPress behave then we highly recommend doing so. A good place to start would be http://learn.wordpress.com/ or http://www.wpbeginner.com/. However, if you want to spend the majority of your time and energy on your endeavor(s), then get someone to be your go-to person for most things regarding WordPress website help and support.
We believe the majority of you want to use/benefit from the power of WordPress to simply get to the results you want . . . without a lot of the typical frustration that can come along with it. You don't want to have to worry about your WordPress website or blog installation all the time. Whether it is from us or someone else, we highly recommend having a cost effective WordPress support/help team. Below are some ideas with using WordPress and ways to leverage cost-effective support and help. This is key to entering WordPress blue skies with whatever endeavor(s) you are engaged!

ToggleThere are multiple ways to incorporate WordPress (WP) installs even if you don’t use WP currently.
If you are using WordPress now, then you likely already know at least some of the power that it has just waiting to be utilized. Here is a list of some ideas:
- A full-fledged business
- A personal blog
- A business blog
- A student/educational portfolio
- A non-profit
- A charity
- A ministry
- A side business beta or test a market project/site
- A personal project/idea you have just been waiting to try
- A hobby project
- A government project/site
- A enterprise-level project/site
- A network of sites
- A educational institution or college project/site
- A internal communications site/portal (aka intranet) for your endeavor
- Your own personal or business "facebook" style website
- A separate look and feel for different primary lead-in pages for core products, services, etc. that funnel to you core site (perhaps for A/B testing)
- A side business project/idea you have just waiting to try out
- A personal project/idea you have just waiting to try out
- the list can go on & on . . .Â
- . . . or even A separate WP installation to extend the capabilities . . . More . . .of your core site without so much performance degradation. For example you may want to have a Q/A site similar to a http://stackoverflow.com/ type site. You could use QA.mysite.com and or even mysite.com/QA (and make it a totally separate site even if your core site is not WordPress). A few other extension ideas that may benefit from having a separate installation could be a membership backend offering, live video streaming event management, selling online courses (similar to http://moodle.com/) etc. Yep, whatever you can dream up, WordPress will likely be able to do it directly or within a plugin. If what you are wanting to do to extend your offerings could potentially take up significant resources (by itself) and you want it to be a core extension of what you are doing then this could be a great option for you. A good rule of thumb is that if it has dynamic/constantly changing content, has lots of comments/replies, video-streaming, traffic, etc. then it could be a option for you to make it a separate WP install. You then simply point a subdomain or sub-directory to that WP install. You can integrate this even into your core non-Wordpress website as well!.
- Legitimate review, referral, or affiliate-type projects.
- and much more . . .
Don’t spend too much of your valuable time on WordPress problem-solving unless it is a core part of your endeavor.
You should want to learn what you can about WordPress so that you can do what you need to do on your website/blog. However, try not to spend an exorbitant amount of time in WordPress. There is no person on the globe that know it all when it comes to WordPress (including us). Lawyers are not trained to know it all either for example. They are trained how to find the answers and implement as quickly as possible (and they can usually do just that because they practice law on a regular basis). This is how we like to view WordPress and other things both online and off.
If you are being taken away from your core objectives/goals as they relate to your primary endeavor (i.e. you business, ministry, non-profit, etc) then change it. Even the minimum tech-lover can be easily excited with the possibilities and drawn away into endless hours of WordPress research on a multitude of topics. Don't do it or your endeavor(s) will suffer. Leverage other people who specialize in the area of WordPress if they are cost-effective for you. Your time and endeavor(s) will thank you!Â
